I’m working on a headband inspired by an image from the Hubble Telescope. I’ve always been fascinated by the colors and patterns in the images we see from space and have been wanting to do some kind of space-inspired art for years.
My inspiration photo is the Cygnus Loop Supernova Remnant:
I chose my wool and carefully laid it out in a criss-cross pattern to capture the general color and pattern of the supernova. This is the first step in the felt-making process.




I set the felt piece up next to the supernova inspiration image on my computer to make sure I liked how the felt looked.
The next step is turning the wool into felt by scrubbing it with soap and boiling water, so check back in later this week to see this little cosmos piece take shape.
